SKM FELICITATES CHAIRPERSONS AND ADVISORS Despite COVID-19, development will continue: Golay

GANGTOK, 21 Oct:

Sikkim Krantikari Morcha president and the Chief Minister, PS Tamang appealed to all newly appointed Advisors and Chairpersons to reach out to the people in every corner of the State to address their problems and issues.

The CM was addressing a special function of felicitation and consultation with the newly appointed Advisors and Chairpersons organized by SKM party here at Manan Kendra on Wednesday.

He said that their prime responsibility is to serve the people after being a part of the government and further suggested that they always work in the interest of Sikkim and its people.

The programme, which had the SKM president as the chief guest, was attended by Ministers, MLAs and newly elected Advisors and Chairpersons. On the occasion, the CM congratulated all appointed Advisors and Chairpersons by offering khadas, informs a SKM press release issued by its chief coordinator [press & publicity] and Confidential Secretary to the CM, Bikash Basnet.

The CM further mentioned that despite difficult situation in the State due to COVID-19 pandemic there was no obstacle in the development and progress of the State and in the distribution of benefits to the people. He stated that in other parts of the country salaries were also cut but the people and employees of Sikkim have never witnessed such a situation. He also listed out various schemes and achievements so far of the SKM government.

The CM mentioned that the SKM government has mainly been working in rural development, education and other priority sectors. He urged Advisors and Chairpersons to reach out to the people with programmes and benefits of the government.

The press release informs that after in the welcome address by vice-president [headquarter] Uttam Lepcha, Press Advisor the CM, CP Sharma highlighted the vision, principles and programme of SKM party.

The programme was also addressed by TeestaUrja Chairman, G Lachungpa and ended with the vote of thanks by the Political Secretary to the CM, Jacob Khaling, the release mentions.
