Covid crosses 400-mark in Sikkim.
GANGTOK, 03 Nov: The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Sikkim has crossed 4000-mark and stands on 4004 with 37 fresh cases of novel coronavirus reported in the last 24 hours in the State. The figure of discharged patients of COVID-19 in Sikkim has further improved to 3578 with the release of five more patients from isolation facilities. There are now 271 active cases of novel coronavirus in the State, of who four are currently in the ICU facility of STNM hospital.
Out of 37 new cases of novel coronavirus in the State, 26 were came in the RT-PCR testing of 129 samples at VRD Lab in STNM Hospital, while two were detected in TrueNat testing of 24 samples and nine were reported in the rapid antigen testing of 54 samples. Among new cases, 35 have been reported in East District and one each from West District and North District.
In the daily health bulletin on Tuesday, Health Department State IEC Officer, Sonam G Bhutia mentioned that one person from Bardang and another from Rongli were reported positive for COVID-19 in TrueNat testing. He mentioned that six persons from MG Marg and four from Deorali were found COVID-19 positive in RT-PCR testing.
Likewise, one person from Sang, one from Upper Burtuk, one from Lower Maneydara in Namthang, one from near Sukkha Pul in Sichey, one from Sawreney in Assam Lingzey, one from Mamley Kamrang, two from Tathangchen, one from Lal Bazaar, one from below Paljor Stadium in Lower Sichey, one from 5th Mile Tadong, one from Tadong, one from Development Area, one from Sichey, one from Ranipool and one from the paid quarantine were also found positive for COVID-19 in RT-PCR testing.
Mr Bhutia mentioned that one person from Mangan in North District, a staff of UBI Gyalshing in West District and two from Kingstone, Rhenock, two from Development Area, Gangtok, one from Pakyong, one from 6th Mile Tadong and one from 5th Mile Tadong were tested COVID-19 positive in the rapid antigen testing.
