4th Sikkim Strength Lifting Competition in Namchi

Namchi, 28 Nov:

The 4th Sikkim Strength Lifting Competition was held on 27 and 28 Nov which was organized by Sikkim Strength Lifting Association in collaboration with Sumo's Gym in Namchi, South Sikkim.

The event had 120 participants from Sikkim and 35 participants from Nepal among which, around 40 participants were women lifters.

The chief guest of the second day of the event held in Sumo's Gym was Urban Development Minister, Arun Upreti, who said that Sikkim has played an important role in the Indo-Nepal friendship.

The chief patron of the event, Forest Minister, Karma Loday, said that the same event will be held in Gangtok and North Sikkim in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

The chairman of Namchi Municipal Council, Ganesh Rai was present on the second day of the event as a special guest.

The general secretary of Sikkim Strength Lifting Association thanked the Minister and the Chief Minister for supporting the event and also thanked the owner of Sumo's Gym, Pema Gyatso Bhutia for his support.

Judges both from state and national level were felicitated along with the participants of the event.

The main attraction of the second day was Mr Nepal, Lalit Nuniya Dhimal who posed during the event.
