Army rescues 8 buried by landslide at 17 Mile

Gangtok, 15 Jun:

Heavy rains in the last two days caused havoc at 17 Mile as a landslide destroyed the camp set up by National Highway authorities in the area.

Responding swiftly to the situation,troops of Black Cat Division of the Indian Army evacuated 8 civilians buried under the debris.

All of them were treated at the nearest Military Hospital; however, one person succumbed to his injuries at the Military Hospital
