Army thanks Govt for milk supply

Major General Narendra Singh (MGASC) Eastern Command, and other officials called on Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang at his official residence at Mintokgang today, a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office informs.


In the courtesy call, the Major General expressed his gratitude to the State Government for providing uninterrupted logistics for transporting essential items and other goods to the border areas by Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT) even during the harshest climatic conditions. He also expressed his appreciation towards the State Government for supplying milk to the armed forces from this year onwards.


The Major General further acknowledged the assistance of the Transport Department for transferring tanks and other military equipment. It is the first time a meeting was held in the state with the Ministry of Defence to negotiate the rate and logistics, the release mentions.
