BCM to adopt 3 schools to promote badminton

Badminton Club of Majhitar today announced plans to adopt three schools in the Majhitar area to introduce students to badminton and groom them to take the sport further, a press release informs.

This was announced by BCM chief advisor, Suresh K Lama, at the first annual general meeting of the club held here at Sundar Hotel & Resort, Majhitar, which had SDM-Rangpo, Milan Rai, as chief guest, the release adds.

Also today, Badminton Association of Sikkim president, ChewangZangpo, presented the official affiliation certificate to BCM.

BCM, in turn, thanked BAS for giving it the opportunity to host the Senior Men’s and Women’s State Level Ranking Tournament at Majhitar and conduct a coaching camp for young shuttlers of the region.

The AGM also saw BCM felicitate BAS general secretarySukanta Das and Managing Director of Sundar Hotels & Resort, KishorDungmaliRai, for his support to the club since its formation.

The AGM was attended by representatives from different sports associations from West Pendamconstituency, Singtam along with representatives from schools. Mayal Enterprises of MajhitarMD, YankeyYonzonGurung, and Chief Executive Officer of Sundar Hotel and Resort RadhaThapaDungmaliwere presented mementos for their constant support to BCM.
