BJP favouring farmers

Gangtok, 17 Dec:

The Bharatiya Janata Party has always been a party in favour of new reforms in the country and gives a new direction to the progress and prosperity of the country. Since the formation of the government under the leadership of Narendra Modi in 2014, the BJP government has been able to take historic decisions in the last six years by initiating a number of reforms in the. However, it is well known that the opposition political parties, which cannot digest the progress and prosperity of the country, do not want to see the countrymen prosper and have been losing their political existence for the last six years, are conspiring to destabilize the country time and again.

Meanwhile, in the last few months, the central government has passed three historic Agricultural Bills for the welfare of farmers and implemented new Agricultural Laws in the country. The new agricultural law has given farmers the freedom to sell their produce, which has long been cheated by middlemen, and has also strengthened the provision of a minimum support price.

However, now the farmers especially from Punjab, are protesting against the Agriculture Laws, which is clearly based on lies spread by the opposition. BJP Sikkim considers it to be a purely anti-farmer movement as the agitating farmers is adamant in demanding repeal of the law, even though the central government has made its position clear during the talks to amend the suggestions made by farmers' organizations.

There are more than 15 Crore farmers across the country and Punjab has about 1 percent of it. Therefore, the BJP Sikkim considers the agitation to be completely anti-farmer, which is demanding the repeal of the law that 99 per cent of the country's farmers have happily accepted and supported.

On the other hand, the participation of the real and hard working farmers in this movement is very low which has been misled by some Farmers Unions and Opposition Parties. At the same time, the movement is dominated by market owners, middlemen, unionists, various political parties, separatists and anti-national elements who are always trying to destabilize the country as well as slow down the pace of progress. Therefore, BJP Sikkim strongly condemns such pseudo, anti-farmer and anti-reform movement in the country.
