BK Roka elected SKKA president

GANGTOK, 18 Oct: Sikkim Kho Kho Association [SKKA] president, BK Roka, has been elected as the vice-president of North East Zone Kho Kho Federation.

He was elected during the general council meeting of East Zone Committee of Kho Kho Federation of Indian held recently at Guwahati. SKKA former general secretary, Anup Chakraborty, who is also the state coach, has also been nominated as tournament committee convener during the meeting.

As per an SKKA press release, president, BK Roka and former general secretary, Anup Chakraborty had represented Sikkim in the meeting held to decide various issues relating to restructuring and re-organization of East zone and take decisions to rearrange the north east zone. States of Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Sikkim, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram were declared as the NE Zone, it is informed.

The release mentions that the meeting also discussed the conduct of state and zonal tournaments at the earliest and informing the Kho Kho Federation of India about date and venue of the next zonal national tournaments.
