CM attends inaugural ceremony of MadhavpurGhed Festival

Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamangattended the inaugural ceremony of the MadhavpurGhed Festival 2022 on Sunday. The festival was inaugurated by President of India, Ram NathKovind and had the august presence of First Lady, SavitaKovind, Governor of Gujarat, AcharyaDevvrat, Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma, and other dignitaries.
Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang in his address expressed his happiness at being part of the festival and witnessing the vibrant culture and traditions on display. He acclaimed the initiative of Prime Minister, NarendraModi to unite the country through the exchange of culture and traditions and promote the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat ''.
He said that the State of Sikkim has joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the essence of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat '' and “AzadiKaAmritMahotsav '' by incorporating them in all ongoing programmes of the State Government. He thanked the State of Gujarat and the organizers of the Madhavpur festival for inviting Sikkim and the rest of the North Eastern States to participate in the festival.
In his address, the Chief Minister mentioned the notable tourism and cultural resources of Gujarat. He added that in recent years, there has been a considerable increase in the number of Gujarati tourists visiting the State of Sikkim. He also made a mention of some of the key initiatives of the Government of Sikkim.
The Chief Minister was accompanied in the programme by Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, and senior Government officials.
