CM completes 3-day tour of his constituency
Gangtok, 15 Jan:
Chief Minister PS Tamang completed a 3-day tour of his constituency, Poklok-Kamrang, with a public interaction programme at Sikkip Block Administrative Centre where he met people from Pabung-Tingrithang, Wok-Amchu and Mamlay-Kamrang GPUs on Friday.
Speaking to media-persons at the venue, Mamlay-Kamrang Panchayat President, MB Mangar, informed that among the demands placed with the CM were those for new road-cutting, footpaths, school, bridge etc in the GPU.
Most of the people also sought assistance for medical treatment, house construction, employment etc.
The Chief Minister's Coordinator, Nivin Kishor Chettri, informed that the Chief Minister made the effort to personally meet everyone from the three GPUs who sought to meet him and stated that many people benefited from this program.
The Chief Minister instructed the Secretaries of all the departments accompanying him to address the demands endorsed by him immediately.
Like his meetings of the past two days, the Chief Minister, apart from interacting with the people, also handed over 35 work orders for projects ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh through the Natural Calamity Fund.
Over these three days, the Chief Minister met thousands of people from the nine GPUs of his constituency.
Speaking to reporters, Prakash Limbu, a Poklok-Kamrang resident, said that the Chief Minister's programme has proven very popular with the people who were delighted with the opportunity to meet and interact with the CM who also represents them in the Legislative Assembly. He commented that such access was not available to the people under the previous government.
