CM inaugurates Niyukti Kendra and Job Mela at Manan Kendra

Gangtok, 08 Mar (IPR):

Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang attended the digital inauguration of Niyukti Kendra and Job Mela 2022-24 here at Manan Kendra, in Gangtok today.

The programme was organized by the Skill Development Department, Government of Sikkim. The main objective of the programme was to showcase the activities of the Skill Development Department to make Sikkim self-reliant in every discipline and department.

At the onset of the programme, success stories, and documentary films were exhibited to the trainees. The programme also included presentation of song, gift hampers and letters of intent for job vacancies by various business establishments. The programme also included awarding letters of Felicitation and Appreciation to apprenticeship providers and all facilitators.

During the programme, the signing of MoU for Entrepreneurship Development between Skill Development Department, Commerce and Industries Department and SEED Cell was also done. Distribution of toolkits to trained beauticians was also undertaken during the programme.

Chief Minister extended his warm greetings for International Women's Day. He gave a brief introduction about various schemes dedicated to the women of the State such as the "Aama" and "Bahini" scheme. He further said that the youth should take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Government through different schemes.

Furthermore, the CM apprised the attendees about different policies which aim to put Sikkimese youth forward and informed everyone that it is the duty of the Government to train the youth according to the required skill so that they can get employed. There was also a mention about Skill Youth Startup Scheme which would cater to the needs of the unemployed youth in the State.

At the outset of the programme, MoU was signed between SICB and SEED Cell and Commerce and Industries and SEED Cell.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by theAdvisor Skill Development Department, Satish Rai, Chairman Skill Development Department, Binod Basnet, Chief Coordinator of SEED Cell, Raj Lama, Secretary Skill Development Department, Karma N. Bhutia.

Also present were Heads of various companies and organizations, Head of Human Resource and CEO's, Head of Wellness Establishment, Principals of ITI, Representatives from various hotels, Training Partners, Representatives from different organizations, trainees and students.
