CM's personal intervention brings stranded ailing Sikkimese home from Gujarat


Gangtok, 22 Jun: Kalpana Sharma, a resident of Chujachen, East Sikkim, who was working at Jamnagar in Gujarat had taken ill and was stranded there during the ongoing lockdown.

When the matter was brought to the notice of the Chief Minister, his personal intervention got

the evacuation process rolling and she landed at Bagdogra today and was reunited with her family.

As per informed sources, Kalpana was brought to Sikkim House, Kolkata, aided by her house owner on 21 June and then put on a flight to Bagdogra where she was received by protocol officials of the State Government.Her brother was also at the airport, and Sikkim Jan Kalyan Prakosta volunteers organised an ambulance to ferry her home to Chujachen, today, it is informed. Kalpana and her family members have expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister PS Tamang for having extended immediate support

and help.
