CMMSS recipient continues to shine:Chujachen’s Albert Gurung selected forCalifornia Youth Leadersh


Gangtok, 28 Jan: Albert Gurung, a Sikkim lad currently pursuing his graduation from Rajdhani College,

Delhi University, has been selected to participate in the California Sister Cities Youth Leadership

Summit scheduled to be held online on 06 Feb, 2021. The California Youth Leadership Summit is

being hosted by the Sister Cities International Southern California Chapter and is organized

by the Sister Cities International Southern and Northern California Chapters along with KIF USA.

Albert, who hails from Posakey Basti, Chujachen, East Sikkim, completed his school education from Pinegrove School, Himachal Pradesh, as a Chief Minister’s Meritorious Scholarship recipient and this is not his first selection for an international event. While still in school, he had been selected for the Round Square International Conference 2018 in Canada where he represented his school and the country. Albert was also awarded the King Constantine Medal for Social Service, 2019, by Round Square International, United Kingdom. He is also a member of the popular Sikkim youth empowering platform, the Wandering Souls of Sikkim, and Sikkim Students’ Parliament. He is also actively involved in various social service activities. California Sister Cities Youth Leadership Summit, a nonprofit online event, will be run by young professionals and college students for high school and college students throughout California, as well as college students from California’s sister cities around the world.
