CMO hosts special function for distribution of grants
Gangtok, 15 May [IPR]: The Chief Minister's Office, under the banner of “Parivartan – Towards the Path of Progress and Prosperity,”organized a function for the distribution of grants under CMDG and CMRF at Manan Kendra today.
The function was chaired by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.
He was accompanied by Minister for Education Department, KN Lepcha, Principal Secretary, Education Department, RTelang, Press Advisor to CM, CP Sharma, advisors and chairpersons, Vice-Chancellor SMIMS, Lt Gen Rajan S Grewal, Director, Education Department, Hondala Gyalchen, DC Soreng, Bhim Thatal, government officials, students, and the general public.
The programme began with a welcome note by the Secretary to CM, Dr SD Dhakal.
ManishaSubedi, a medical student studying at SMIMS, presented her gratitude note to the Government of Sikkim for taking up the wonderful initiative in the field of education.
The Chief Minister, in his speech, congratulated the beneficiaries under the CMDG & CMRF.
The CM stated, “Since the formation of our government, we are regularly assisting people from CMDG in setting up businesses and improving infrastructure, including the construction ofreligious buildings and establishment ofhigher education centers.”
He also informed that the government is assisting the public through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) by providing instant relief for medical purposes.
He urged the beneficiaries to utilize funds meticulously according to specified purposes for which the funds are allocated to them.
Minister KN Lepcha in his speech highlighted the various schemes initiated by the State Government to improve the education system in the State. He encouraged students to take benefit of the schemes provided by the State Government.
Earlier in the programme, a video presentation regarding the allotment of MBBS seats for students in Sikkim was also shared
The Chief Minister distributed Laptops to 89 MBBS students of the 2021-22 batch. Similarly, he also shared some grant-in-aid to NGOs, grant to entrepreneurs, Chief Minister's Scholarship, sanctioned intimation of works, and medical grant.
The function concluded with the words of thanks proposed by the Resource Officer of the Chief Minister’s Office, SurjayPradhan.
