Football coaching camp by Perbing Football Association concludes

A month long football coaching camp, organised by Perbing Football Association at Perbing, South Sikkim under Namthang Rateypani constituency concluded today. The organisation also gave a small farewell programme to their football coach, Richard Poul Lepcha, who is one of the professional football coach and presently working as the coach of Namchi Football Association. The programme was witnessed by the area Panchayat president, Pema Sherpa.

Coach Richard was offered with gifts from students and an appreciation letter from Perbing Football Federation by the hands of Panchayat president Sherpa. They have around 40–45 students including both girls and boys in Perbing Football Association. Association president, Zidar Sherpa said that this is the very first time that such coaching has be provided and for that he express his gratitude to area MLA cum transport Minister, Sanjit Kharel his support. He also informed that Minister Kharel supported them with cash offering them essential football kits within 15 days of their plan to set this camp. Without him this coaching could not be organised, he added.

While talking with SummitTIMES, Coach Richard Poul Lepcha mentioned girls to focus on more because Sikkim is a very small state as compared to the rest of the states and students can have most chances to have good coaching and also the government can help them better in their future endeavours especially in the sports area.

Area Panchayat Pema thanked Minister Kharel and said that this kind of coaching is very important, further she expects to have this kind of coaching towards the other games like cricket too.
