Gangtok youth launches construction company

GANGTOK, 11 Jan: Tateng Construction, a company owned by Sikkimese youth, Jigmee Singye Wangchuk, was launched today in a function attended by Forest Minister, Karma Loday

Bhutia as chief guest along with MLA, Aditya Golay and other dignitaries. The company has

its head office in Tateng Building on Sonam Tshering Marg [Kazi Road] and will be involved

in planning and execution of building structures and other services. In his address, the

Minister expressed his happiness on the initiative taken by Jigmee Singye Wangchuk to become

self-employed and to provide opportunities to local experts and manpower of the State. He

also assured to provide all possible support from the government. Such initiatives will help the mission and work of the State government to make its youth self-reliant and self-employed, he said. Earlier, in his welcome address, former Secretary to the Government of Sikkim, Pema Wangyal Rinzing congratulated

Jigmee Singye Wangchuk for exploring opportunities in the corporate sector rather than going for a government job. He stated that the company will bring qualified technical hands from different areas under one roof to provide the best service to the people. Speaking to media persons, Jigmee Singye

Wangchuk, who is also president of a senior division football club, Sikkim Aakraman Football

Club, stated that it is imperative for local youth to come into the private sector. He hopes to involve

local architects, engineers and experts in Sikkim in order to uplift the local workforce and promote

them outside the state as well. He urged people to give an opportunity to local youth to show their skills and ability to provide reliable service. Mr Wangchuk informed that the company will offer services like

planning and execution of building structures such as private houses, hotels, tourism projects,

industrial projects and infrastructure. Other services like architectural, legal and financial consultation, project planning, administrative work and banking services will also be offered by the company.
