Handloom Expo gets underway at Namchi Central Park

Namchi, 02 Mar: Handloom Expo 2020- 21 got underway here at the Central Park today. Organized by the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handloom and Sikkim Handloom and Handicrafts Development

Corporation Ltd and sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom),

Ministry of Textiles, chairperson Commerce and Industries Department, MB Chettri, was present

as chief guest. The main motive behind the event is to promote and sell handloom from Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir and local weavers, self help groups and cooperative societies of Sikkim. Altogetherm there are 60 participants from these states and 40 from Sikkim at the expo.
