Kisan Gosthi held at KVK West

Gangtok, 18 Oct:

Eastern Regional Station, ICAR-IVRI, Kolkata in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra [KVK], West Sikkim conducted Kisan Gosthi cum Awareness Programme at KVK West Sikkim today, a press release informs.

The program was attended by Advisor Animal Husbandry, Durga Prasad Pradhan as chief guest along with In-charge IVRI, Kolkata, Dr PS Banerjee, Principal Scientist, IVRI, Dr S Bandyopadhyay, Principal Scientist, IVRI, Dr P Dandapat, Senior Scientist & Head, SMSs and other officials of KVK along with 25 progressive farmers of Rafang village.

The In-charge IVRI and other dignitaries highlighted the advantages and scope of piggery farming in Sikkim and encouraged the farmers to take up piggery farming on a larger scale.

The program was followed by farmers-scientist interaction. Later in the program, 50 piglets along with feed and medicine were distributed to the participants
