Losoong over, it’s time for Christmas

After Losoong and Namsoong, now it is time for Christmas in Sikkim.

Pre-christmas celebrations have been underway in the form of Mamlay Kamrang Christmas Festive Meet 2020 at Middle Kamrang Secondary School ground in South Sikkim.

The main objective of the program is to take the opportunity provided by Christmas to provide a platform to talented football players from different villages, said Roger Rai, president of the Organizing Committee.

Furden Lepcha, Chairman, farmers welfare Board, was present as the Chief Guest at today's event. K B. Rai, the SKM area incharge, was present as a special guest . In his address, Lepcha said the current government is committed to protecting the rights and privileges of all religions and communities.

On the fifth day of the Christmas Festive Meet-2020, cultural dances and solo singing were presented by various churches from the Poklok Kamrang area. In addition, to make the event more attractive and entertaining, a one-day competition of veteran football players was held, in which four teams participated - Upper Kamrang, Lower Kamrang, Middle Kamrang and Mamlay Ward. Upper Kamrang and Middle Kamrang clashed in the final and Upper Kamrang became the winner.

According to the organizers, Chief Minister P.S. Tamang will be the chief guest at tomorrow's programme.
