Minister for Health & Family welfare, Government of Sikkim inspected Covid Care Center set up at NHP

Minister for Health & Family Welfare of Sikkim, Dr Mani Kumar Sharma inspected the Covid Care Center set up at NHPC, Teesta V Power Station, East Sikkim Dung Dung Guest House on 31 Jun, 2021. He was given a warm welcome by General Manager (In charge), Sanjay Darbari, Teesta-V Power Stationin the presence of senior officers and CMO of the Power Station. Minister was accompanied by BDO, Khamdong, East Sikkim. HOP Teesta-V Power Station, Sanjay Darbari informed that the Covid Care Center was set up at short notice pursuant to orders issued by the Chairperson District Disaster Management Authority under section 34 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 for Khamdong block and can accommodate 15 patients. Minister checked the availability of water, electricity and sanitation measures at the Covid Care Center and appreciated the arrangements made by NHPC Teesta-V Power Station. HOP Teesta-V Power Station, Sanjay Darbari also discussed andfinalised the Layout plan of additional 10 bedded Covid Care facility being developed by NHPC in a separate facility at Dung Dung with the minister and informed that it would be completed within 15 days.
Minister was also apprised about the free ambulance facilities being provided to Locals by the Power Station as well as sanitation drive organized from time to time in recent past in the vicinity. Sanjay Darbari informed that sanitization of the area from Ghotekhola to Sirwani was undertaken today, upon the request of local Gram Panchayat President. Minister directed BDO Khamdong to prepare a schedule for sanitization of Covid affected nearby areas and requested NHPC to undertake the same for the welfare of the local community. Upon the request of the HOP Teesta-V Power Station, Minister gave an assurance of providing vaccines for vaccination of employees, dependents, contract labour and locals between 18–45 years of age as soon as they are received by the State Government.
