MUSS pays homage to CM’s father

Manav Uthan Sewa Samiti Sikkim today organized a meeting to pay homage to Late Kalu Singh Tamang, father of Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang, who passed away recently.

A press release informs that the meeting was held at Sambhala Ashram on Sonam Gyatso Marg, Gangtok.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Mayor Gangtok Municipal Corporation, Tshering Palden Bhutia, MUSS In-charge of Sikkim – Darjeeling Himalayan Region, Mahatma Akhilesh Baiji, Senior Advisor Sikkim Branch, Mahatma Gyan Baiji, Branch In-charges, executive members of State Branch, members and volunteers.

All present in the meeting deeply mourned the passing away of Kalu Singh Tamang and said that the Sikkimese society has lost a guardian figure and prayed for the departed soul. Stating that death is a bitter truth of life, the Mahatmas said that Late Tamang’s good deeds will keep him alive till time immemorial.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Mayor, Tshering Palden Bhutia thanked MUSS for organizing the meeting in memory of the Chief Minister’s father. Sikkim has lost a fatherly figure in the passing away of Kalu Singh Tamang, she said praying for the departed soul.

Earlier, the Deputy Mayor, Mahatmas and MUSS members paid tribute to the deceased by offering flowers at the portrait of Late Kalu Singh Tamang. Similarly 108 diyas were also lit in his memory.
