Namchi’swater supply pipelines through Rabongla Byepass fully restored
Namchi, 12 Jun (IPR):
The water supply pipelinesto Namchi which had been damaged recently at RabonglaByepass due to landslide were successfully restored today.
The Chairperson Public Health Engineering Department, Hari Narayan Subedi accompanied by the Advisor Skill Development Department, Satish Chandra Rai, Additional Political Secretary (South), Anjeeta Rajalim,Chairperson Namchi Municipal Council, Ganesh Rai alongwith local gentry were present during the restoration process. Present amongst others were DE (PHE), NT Bhutia, AE (PHE), Sonam Karthak other concerned officials alongside stakeholders of NHIDCL and contractors.
The team inspected the site of landslide which had caused disruption to water supply and assessed the measures taken by the Department for restoring the water pipelines.
The Chairman PHE also extended gratitude towards the pace of work being carried by the stakeholder for swift restoration of water supply pipelines.
It maybe mentioned here that a permanent water pipeline will be laid down after moonsoon.
During the process, they also visited the perennial water sources and water reservoirs located in and around Ravangla. Further, they also toured Damthang Water Treatment Plant and Namchi Water Reservoir to enquire about water stored for the use of public and its distribution process.
