Pandit Keshav Khanal: THE FRONTLINE WARRIOR FOR FINAL RITES

Pandit Keshav Khanal is a man of faith and earns the credentials of a Frontline Warrior by securing some solace for Hindu families in Sikkim which have lost a loved one to the virus. He is the priest who had the selfless courage to volunteer to perform the funeral rites of Sikkim's first Covid fatality last year. Remember, at that time even lesser was known about the virus or its transmission. What is more, ever since then, he has stepped up to perform the rituals whenever families cannot find a priest to perform the rites. Over the months, Pandit Keshav Khanal has himself come down with Covid. Thankfully for Sikkim, he recovered, and continues his service and shares that he has overseen at least 30 cremations thus far. He is also the general secretary of Hindu Swabhiman, Sikkim Branch. [from AARON RAI]
