Darjeeling, 12 May: Ajoy Edward, the owner of Glenary’s and founder member of Edwards Foundation, today shared that they were expecting the authorities to reject the proposal to convert the Glenary’s

restaurant into a covid care centre as he had proposed. While sharing that this rejection was reported in a newspaper even before they had received an official response to their offer, Mr Edward said that they were not going to let this derail the Foundation’s effort to serve the people of Darjeeling during this pandemic. “We had expected something like this so we had a plan-B and C ready. We are now delivering oximeters, medicines, food and also paramedical assistance to people at their homes. I had promised five things: beds, oxygen, ambulance, food and oxygen concentrator. Our target is to

keep 50 to 100 oxygen concentrators in the Darjeeling Hills,” he said.
