Rishal adjudged Best Delegate Global Youth International Model United Nations

Gangtok, 07 May: Gangtok's Rishal Pandey Chettri, a Class 12 student at Delhi Public School, Siliguri, has bagged the “Best Delegate Award” at the Global Youth International Model United Nations [GYIMUN], a press release informs.

He was a delegate representing India at the event and was recognised for his "outstanding diplomacy skills and knowledge of International Relations" displayed at GYIMUN.

The competition was organised virtually owing to Covid-19 travel restrictions and had delegates participating from 40+ countries on 24 and 25 Apr, 2021. The results were announced on 06 May, it is informed.

Global Youth International MUN is a United Nation’s Simulation Conference that aims to inculcate the skills of Public Speaking, Diplomacy and Negotiations among the Youth.

Born to Meena Bhujel and Om Prakash Pandey, Rishal completed his class 10 from Holy Cross School, Tadong and went on to pursue his +2 from DPS,Siliguri.

“These conferences and Model United Nations address real world concerns to equip the participating young adults with practical and applicable expertise which will enhance their skills of diplomacy,” he explains.
