SFA calls on NDFA members in Mangan, briefs them on new football management regulations
Gangtok, 07 Oct:
A team of Sikkim Football Association office-bearers, led by their president Menla Ethenpa, called on the District Collector [North], Tenzing T Kaleon, and members of the North District Football Association [NDFA] on Wednesday to deliberate on the functioning of the district football association vis-à-vis development of Sikkim football at large.
The SFA team included vice-presidents Shyam Pradhan and Chewang Paul Sangdarpa and chief coordinator, Phurba Sherpa.
An SFA press release informs that the SFA president spoke about new regulations which require clubs to register their players through the Central Registration System on the official portal of All India Football Federation.
He also apprised in the meeting that referees were also required to register themselves through Referees Administration System of India.
He informed that the district association was also required to have an annual calendar which should include other activities like organisation of Baby Leagues, Futsal and minimum of "B" division local league matches in the district.
SFA has assured help to the district units with regard to educating incumbents in the field of refereeing as well as to develop grassroots coaches in the days to come, the release informs.
It is informed that the DC-North advised NDFA to make the association inclusive by taking members from other sub-divisions of the district as well. He further stressed that since SFA was the apex body of football in the state, NDFA should take note of suggestions put forward by SFA. He also suggested that NDFA rope in some sponsors to carry forward their programmes.
