SFPB board meets, discusses Eco-Heritage Film City

Gangtok, 01 Sept (IPR): The 2nd board meeting of Sikkim Film Promotion Board was held at the chamber of Chairperson, Sikkim Film Promotion Board, Pooja Sharma at Manan Kendra today.

The meeting chaired by the Chairperson, Sikkim Film Promotion Board also had the presence of Secretary, IPR Department, Siporah Targain, Director, IPR, Benu Gurung along with other board members.

In the welcome note, Director, IPR Department, Benu Gurung welcomed all the dignitaries and highlighted on the need for creation of single window system to simplify and facilitate the film shooting process in the state and added that setting up of single window system will require full cooperation and coordination from the other concerned departments.

Pooja Sharma in her address informed about setting up of Eco-Heritage Film City at Yangang and added that Sikkim itself was a natural set for filming production and has great potential for it to stand out as a leading shooting destination in the country. The Eco Heritage Film City will also help in creating employment opportunities for the people of Sikkim, she added. She also informed that the PPR of the Eco Heritage Film City has been submitted to the Ministry of DONER by the Minister IPR, Lok Nath Sharma and has received positive feedback.

Chairperson SFPB asked for the suggestions of the concerned departments for making the upcoming Sikkim Global Film Festival a grand success. Further discussion on Film Policy, grant in aids and other specific agendas were also discussed during the course of the meeting.

The meeting was well participated by all the board members wherein they gave their valuable inputs.
