Sikkim Co-operative Milk Producer's Union elects new Board of Directors

The 27th Annual General Meeting of the Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd was held at State Institute of Capacity building Conference Hall at Jorethang today, informs a press release from Sikkim Milk Union.
The AGM was attended by the Vice Chairman, Sikkim Co-operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd, MJ Rai, Secretary Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services,Dr P Senthil Kumar, Principal Director,Dr BM Chettri, Addl Registrar, Joint Registrar-cum-Returning Officer, all board members, officers and staff of Sikkim Co-operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd and AHVS Dept. The Addl General Manager of Sikkim Milk Union, Kesang welcomed the gathering and dignitaries.
The Secretary-cum-Managing Director made agenda-wise presentation including confirmation of the minutes of 26th AGM and he informed that this year 2 AGMs were conducted and also highlighted the progress achieved by the union.
The election proceedings were then taken up by the returning officer-cum-Joint Registrar, Sarda Roka and her team. She briefed the AGM about the election numbers and the process followed and declared that out of 17 Board of Directors, 10 BoDs were elected unopposed.
The remaining 7 seats went for election. After smooth conduct of election, 17 candidates were declared elected to the board of directors of Sikkim Co-operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd.
Later in the program, all the outgoing Board of Directors were provided with a memento and citation in recognition of their contribution. The out-going board members unanimously thanked the dairy farmers of Sikkim, Village Milk Producer's Co-operative Societies of the Sikkim Co-Operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd, the management of the Sikkim Co-Operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd and the Government of Sikkim for providing all support and cooperation during their entire tenure as board of directors.
All the board members committed that they will extend all support and cooperation for the growth and progress of the Sikkim Co-Operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd. Board also unanimously extended their congratulations and best wishes to the newly elected/selected board of Directors of the Sikkim Co-Operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd and assured them all support and cooperation for all their efforts in sustaining the performance of the Sikkim Co-Operative Milk Producer's Union Ltd Similarly all newly elected Board members were welcomed with khadas.
MD thanked the Registrar, Co-operation, Returning Officer,Sarda Roka for smoothly conducting the elections. The MD in his address stated that the farmers should use the opportunity made available by the Government and Sikkim milk Union for furthering the growth in the Dairy Sector. He also stressed that the farmers have to be proactive in improving their milk production in both quality and quantity.
In his address Vice chairman of Sikkim Milk Union, MJ Rai thanked the dairy farmers of Sikkim, Village Milk Producer's Co-operative Societies of Sikkim Milk, the management of Sikkim Milk Union and the Government of Sikkim for providing all support and cooperation for the progress and performance of the Union.
