Sikkim remains Covid-free for sixth straight day

Sikkim today completed its sixth day as a Covid-free State after all the 91 samples screened for the virus in the past 24 hours returned negative. This, and the fact that the last set of two active cases made full recoveries on 27 May, since when no new cases have been recorded, has ensured that Sikkim continues to remain free of Covid.

As per the Daily Report of Covid-19 in Sikkim released by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programmme of Health Department on Wednesday morning, the tally of confirmed cases of Covid-19 continues to hold at 39,165.

Meanwhile on the vaccination front, Sikkim administered 43 doses of CorBEvax to children aged between 12 to 14 and 26 others aged 15 to 18 years received their Covaxin shots on Tuesday. Likewise, one adult received the regular Covishield shot while nine others took their precautionary third dose in the State yesterday.
