Sikkim's daily Covid count goes past 300 for seventh time in past 94 days.
GANGTOK, 25 July: Sikkim’s tally of the confirmed cases of COVID-19 has crossed 25,000-mark and stands at 25,160 on Sunday with 337 new cases of novel coronavirus reported in the last 24 hours. These new cases were reported from the testing of 2093 samples on Saturday and the state daily positivity rate comes to 16%.
In the meantime, the state figure of the recovered cases of COVID-19 has further improved to 21,549 with the discharge of 169 more persons from home isolations on Saturday after their full recovery. The state recovery rate of COVID-19 stands at 86.6%.
On the other hand, Sikkim’s COVID death toll still stands at 330 with no new COVID death reported in the last 24 hours in the State.
As per daily report of COVID-19 of Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme of Health Department 188 new cases of coronavirus reported in RT-PCR testing of 1240 samples, while 148 more persons were tested positive for COVID-19 in rapid antigen testing of 845 and one more case was found in TruNat testing of eight samples. Of the 337 new cases in the state, 168 were reported in East District, 139 in West District, 29 in South District and 01 in North District.
Active cases of coronavirus have increased to 3017 in the State, of whom nine were admitted in ICU of STNM hospital and 8 in ICU facility of Central Referral Hospital.
Among new cases, fifteen new COVID patients were admitted in hospitals and rest were sent to COVID Care Centres and home isolations.
