Sikkimese artist Deo Prasad Rai selected for 36th Annual Chelsea International Fine Art Competition

Sikkimese artist Deo Prasad Rai's two paintings titled "A lady with her teapot" and "A shade of blue" depicting rural allure, ordinary scenes in the high villages of Northern India have been selected for the 36th Annual Chelsea International Fine Art Competition held at USA.

DeoPrasad Rai, 26 years old, hails from Rimbi, West Sikkim. He was selected by a panel of prestigious jurors to participate in the 36th Annual Chelsea International Fine Art Competition, a carefully curated exhibition showcasing a wide range of media from some of the top most emerging artists from around the world.

The 36th Chelsea International Fine Art Competition is an opportunity for artists at any stage of their career to gain valuable exposure in the New York art scene.

The competition is open to visual artists from around the world. Only two artists from India, Deo Prasad Rai in Art category and RobiChakraborty in Photography category got selected to display their work at the gallery from 23 to 30 August, 2022 along with 28 artists from around the world.

Deo Prasad Rai started his painting career at the age of 15 and has won many contests such as Women with COPD Art contest organised by European Lung Foundation England, 'Astrophelya Art Contest 2022' organised by IOAS Sri Lanka, 'Art of Cause' 2022 organised by FuziaMimbai and many more.
