Sunday slowdown sees numbers drop and TPR rise
Gangtok, 13 Dec:
Sikkim reported three new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours at a daily test positivity rate of 2.6%. The State has been recording daily TPR are under or just a shade over 2% for a few days and new cases at more than five, and today’s reverse order is thanks primarily to the fewer tests conducted in the State on Sunday’s.
The three new cases, all registered in East, were picked up from the screening of 117 samples [62 screened via RT-PCR and 54 put through Rapid Antigen Testing] yesterday. All the cases were detected in RT-PCR testing.
No Covid deaths were recorded in the past 24 hours in the State and the toll continues to hold at 406.
As per the Daily Report on COVID-19 in Sikkim released by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme of Health Department, the State also recorded eight new recoveries to improve the number of people who have beaten the virus to 31,489. The state’scurrent recovery rate of COVID-19 stands at 98.1%.
There are 195 active cases of Covidin Sikkim at present, of whom only 11 are in hospital and the rest are on their way to recovery under home isolation. There is no under-18 year old Covid patient in hospital.
