Urban DevDept sets up Assistance Desk
Gangtok, 19 Apr:
Urban Development Department has started an “Assistance Desk” at the reception area of the office building with adequate manpower and facilities w.e.f. 18 April, a press release from the Department informs.
The assistance desk has been set up as per the direction of the Government and adopting good office practices for helping citizens in disseminating information and assistance for service delivery.
Provision has also been made for assisting Differently Abled Persons in getting their work done. The Differently Abled on request shall be provided with an Assistant and wheelchair. A Differently-Abled friendly toilet at the ground level of the office building has also been provided. If required, the Differently Abled Persons may also ask for a requisition to officials for service delivery at the Assistance Desk itself.
Citizens may get required information on citizen services from the Assistance Desk. More support systems will be added in the coming days to bring improvement to the public delivery system.
