Sikkim Olympic Association has announced elections for its new executive body on 16 March.
An SOA press release, issued by its general secretary Jas Lal Pradhan, informs that the special general meeting of the association held on 03 December had appointed retired Chief Electoral Officer, Government of Sikkim, MN Dhakal as the Election Commissioner to conduct the election.
As per the guidelines issued by the Election Commissioner on 12 February, the election will be conducted on 16 March through a secret ballot for the post of the president, two vice-presidents, general secretary, two joint secretaries, treasurer and four executive members.
It is added that the nomination forms will be issued on 08 March onwards from the office of the Sikkim Olympic Association. The nomination papers will be received on 11 and 12 March between 11.00am to 1.00pm and will be followed by the process of scrutiny and withdrawal on 13 March. The counting and the declaration of results of the election will be held on 16 March after 2:30pm.
