The bestselling author of ‘Fatsung,’ Chuden Kabimo, is in the bookstores with a new title. His second novel, ‘Urmaal,’ received its Sikkim release at a special event here today among fellow writers and fans.
The well attended program had Secretary, Education Department, Tashi Chopel Lepcha, as chief guest, accompanied by Bhim Rawat (President, PCS), Praveen Rai ‘Jumeli,’ Munga Rai and Amrit Biswakarma. Mr Kabimo is currently on a book-yatra promoting his latest work.
The event was hosted by Praveen Khaling and supported by Bethel Travels, Siliguri.
The English translation of Mr Kabimo’s first novel, Fatsung, [‘Song of the Soil,’ in English] it may be recalled, was shortlisted for the JCB Prize in 2022. It is the first book, originally written in Nepali, to be listed for the award.
Fatsung has since been translated into Hindi, Bengali, and Sindhi.
