SUMMIT REPORT, Gangtok, 10 Feb:

Alpine Sporting Club registered another victory at the ongoing Late Vinod Pradhan Memorial T20 Trophy 2025 at Sikkim Cricket Ground in Rangpo on Monday, defeating Avengers Cricket Club by 7 wickets in the league stage today.

After winning the toss, Avengers Cricket Club opted to bat first and managed to score 104 for 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

In response, Alpine Sporting Club reached the target in 15.5 overs losing just 3 wickets. Ajay Pradhan of Alpine SC was adjudged the Player of the Match.

In the second match of the day, Pakyong XI defeated Irises Cricket Club by 5 wickets. Pakyong opted to field first after winning the toss and bowled out Irises Cricket Club for 101 in 19.2 overs. Pakyong XI overcame the target in 16.2 overs losing five wickets. Roshan Kumar of Pakyong XI was adjudged the Player of the Match.

Earlier on Sunday, Royal North Brothers staged a strong comeback to beat Pakyong XI by 14 runs and qualify for the semi-finals. Pakyong XI were cruising at 77 for no loss after 11.2 overs and seemed on track to chase the 137-run target. However, Royal North Brothers made a remarkable comeback and took four wickets in quick succession, ultimately restricting Pakyong IX at 122/7 in 20 overs. Despite a 52-run knock from opener Akash Luitel and a late surge from Avishek Regmi, Pakyong XI fell short by 14 runs.

With this result, Royal North Brothers and CAT, both with two wins each, have made the cut for the semi-finals from Group B. Pakyong XI and Irises Cricket Club, the other two teams in the group, are yet to win a match with only one game remaining.

Alpine SC also secured their place in the semi-finals with an eight-wicket win over Yuksom Capitals. With this win, Alpine SC became the first team to qualify from Group A.

Nilesh Lamichaney’s 62 and Arun Chettri’s 33 helped Alpine chase down a target of 146 in, thanks to a solid 79-run partnership. Earlier, Alpine’s bowlers restricted Yuksom Capitals to 145/8 in 20 overs with Ingsho Limboo taking three wickets and Ashish Thapa claiming two. Jordan Sherpa top-scored for Yuksom with 33 runs.
