The Butterflies and Moths of Sikkim Nature Conservation Society (BAMOS NCS), under the leadership of Nawang G Bhutia, partnered with the Adventure Cell of the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department to host an awareness program on the butterflies, moths, and birds of Sikkim.
The initiative was part of the Sikkim Rural Tourism Meet and was aimed at educating students, tourism professionals, and local stakeholders about the importance of biodiversity conservation.
The event included interactive sessions, a painting competition titled “Spread Your Wings,” and butterfly-watching activities. Informational posters were distributed to further raise awareness.
BAMOS NCS highlighted the connection between conservation efforts and sustainable tourism, promoting local involvement.
