Bharatiya Janata Party’s Sikkim unit held an Ayushman Bharat registration and card distribution camp for senior citizens above 70 years of age at Dikchu, under the Tumin Lingee constituency, a press release informs.
BJP support staff arranged on-site printing and lamination of cards for more than 90 beneficiaries at the camp, the release states.
The initiative, the press release adds, was held on the directions of state-unit president DR Thapa, and spearheaded by BJP spokesperson, Passang Gyali Sherpa.
At the start of the event, District General Secretary, PK Neopaney, welcomed the attendees, following which Mr Passang Gyali Sherpa highlighted the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat card, noting that 19 hospitals in Sikkim and over 29,000 hospitals nationwide, are empanelled under this scheme.
BJP-Sikkim is holding Ayushman Registration Campaign at various constituencies, including Upper Burtuk, Gangtok, Gnathang Machong, Rhenock with 4,150 senior citizens having already received their Ayushman Cards.
The party is preparing to expand this campaign more effectively across the state in the coming days, the release adds.
