The Organization of Musicians and Artistes of Sikkim (OMAS) celebrated its 12th Foundation Day with ‘Souvenirs of Sikkim’ showcasing local art, artisans, and entrepreneurs at MG Marg. The event is being supported by the Commerce and Industries Department.
Gangtok MLA Delay Namgyal Barfungpa inaugurated the event accompanied by MG Marg Councillor Sundeep Malu.
OMAS founding member and advisor, Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, also addressed the gathering, reflecting on the organization’s journey. He highlighted OMAS’s involvement in fundraising initiatives to support disaster relief efforts, including aid for victims of the Nepal earthquake, Nagaland floods, Kerala floods, and the Uttarakhand cloudburst.
Later in the day, an open mic session drew enthusiastic participation from locals, students, and tourists, adding vibrancy to the celebrations.
The event will conclude on 26 March with performances by local bands and musicians.
