Anand Basnet, Gangtok 13 Feb:

The Soreng unit of Akhil Sikkim Khas Chettri Bahun Kalyan Sangh exuded confidence today, stressing that the Samson Tamang issue will not be allowed to dampen their spirits and that the 29th foundation day celebrations of the organisation, scheduled for 26 Feb at Kyongsa Ground, Gyalshing, will proceed as planned.

Addressing a press conference here today, Binod Basnet, an ASKCBKS member from Soreng, said that the foundation day will be celebrated in a grand and dignified manner. Chief Minister PS Tamang is scheduled to attend as the chief guest, he added.

He also expressed faith in Sikkim Police and the judicial process, and criticised Opposition parties for what he sees as opportunistic attempts to extract political mileage out of the issue.
