Citizen Action Party-Sikkim has appreciated Sikkim Police for apprehending Shamson Tamang.
CAP vice-president Prashant Babu Chettri, in a press release issued today, adds that the party “stands firmly against any form of communal discord and divisive rhetoric that threatens the peace and harmony of our beloved state.”
About the accused, CAP insists that he has “not only hurt the sentiments of a particular community but also posed a serious threat to the social fabric of our state.”
The release goes on to urge Sikkim Police and “judicial authorities to ensure that strict legal action” is taken against the accused so that such instances do not recur in the future.
The party has also appealed to the people of Sikkim to maintain harmony and let law take its due course.
