BJP-Sikkim, under directions from the state unit president DR Thapa, initiated an Ayushman Bharat Card generation and distribution drive at Darap under Yangthang constituency in West Sikkim today, a press release informs.
The camp, initiated by BJP Mandal President Sanchaman Limboo and supported by IT Executive Bhim Chettri and Abhinash Sharma, was attended by senior citizens aged above 70 who were provided Ayushman Cards which provides them free treatment for up to Rs 5 lakh per year. This initiative is part of the Central Government’s scheme to provide health insurance coverage to poor and vulnerable families. The Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana [AB PM-JAY] aims to provide health coverage of Rs 5 lakh annually per family for secondary and tertiary care hospitalization across public and private empanelled hospitals in India.
