Sikkim Football Association held a condolence meeting at the Football House here to mourn the passing away of Kunzang Sherab, the former civil servant who was also a prominent footballer of the erstwhile Kumar Sporting Club of Gangtok.
An SFA press release states: “He was a great football player of yesteryears. Those days, almost all the main trophies of football tournaments of Sikkim, neighbouring Kalimpong, Darjeeling used to be lifted by Kumar Sporting Club of Gangtok.”
Mr Sherab breathed his last on Thursday. He was 96, and leaves behind his wife, sons and a host of grandchildren.
