The first coordination meeting to discuss and form the State-Level Celebration Committee for the upcoming Sonam Lochhar 2025 was convened today at a hotel in Gangtok. The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble MLA Shri Aditya Golay in the esteemed presence of Former MLA Smt. Farwanti Tamang, Press Secretary to the HCM Shri Yougan Tamang, Councillor (Deorali) Shri Norbu Tamang, Former Secretary Shri Nima Wangdi Tamang, Secretary of Culture Shri Basant Kumar Lama, Former Advisor (SLCC 2024) Shri Kamal Tamang, Former President of the International Tamang Welfare Association Shri KM Tamang, Former Chairman Shri Tashi Tamang, Social Worker Shri SB Moktan, Shri. Anand Lama (Committee Advisor), Smt. Kalpana Moktan, Former Upadakshya, Ms. Pema Tamang Former Deputy Chairperson, Shri. Subash Tamang and Shri. Passang Tamang and Representatives from the Tamang community across all six districts were also in attendance.
The meeting focused on forming the Sonam Lochhar Celebration Committee 2025, including the State-Level Core Executive Committee, District Committees, and various Sub-Committees. After an in-depth discussion, all committees were unanimously passed and finalized by the attendees.
Shri Aditya Golay emphasized the cultural significance of celebrating Sonam Lochhar and encouraged active participation from the Tamang community across the state. He also shed light on the collective efforts and contributions required to ensure the success of the event. The dignitaries present shared their insights, addressing key responsibilities and organizational structures essential for the celebration.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shri Manoj Lama, marking the beginning of concerted efforts to organize a memorable and meaningful Sonam Lochhar celebration in 2025.
